Walter Joseph Williams (Walter Joe), 88, of San Jose, California, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021, with his son and daughter by his side. He was overcome by complications of Covid 19.

Walter Joe was born in Douglas, Arizona, on June 26th, 1932. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1951 and enlisted in the United States Navy. After receiving an honorable discharge in 1955, Walter earned an Associates Degree in Communications from San Diego City College in 1958 and worked around the world in the aerospace industry for 46 years.

Walter married Eugenia Da Cruz and welcomed daughters, Kim and Dana Williams.

Walter specialized in satellite tracking and at the time was using a developing science called telemetry. He held positions in remote destinations such as Thule, Greenland and Guam before settling in San Jose, California, with his second wife, Cornelia. They welcomed twin girls Ingrid and Danielle, and a son Darrell.

Walter enjoyed playing tennis, listening to jazz and advocating good nutrition

Walter is preceded in death by his eldest daughter Kim Williams and wife Cornelia Williams. He is survived by daughters Dana James of Irvine, CA, Dr. Ingrid Williams of San Jose, CA, Danielle Knox of Ocean View, DE, and son Darrell Williams of Los Angeles, CA.

He also leaves his grandchildren Daniel James, Ava Knox, Hunter Knox, and Danica Knox.

Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Brown Page Mortuary.  Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard and the American Legion.
