In serenity and peace Virginia Cajigas Vásquez Tellez was called to God on May 29, 2024. Virgie was born in Douglas, Arizona, and raised in Paul Spur and Esqueda, Sonora, attending Douglas High School. She was a faithful Christian and lifetime member of St. Luke Catholic Church. She worked at J.C.Penney's, Mr. Fair's and Walmart where she met lifelong friends. Virgie was "Nina" to most of us and a second mother to all of us. She continued to open her home and her heart to us all despite the tremendous suffering of losing her beloved daughter Dolly. She had a Sunday tradition of making her family recipes for all of us and practically the entire village. She was feisty and funny and a great example of God's love for us. Nina was called on regularly for her recipes and her knowledge of family traditions. An avid reader, she was known to be an expert at crosswords and world history. Her spirit and her love preserved and strengthened our family culture and our family bonds. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her, and everyone passing her home will miss seeing her sitting out on her porch. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents Reyes Vale Vasquez and Emilia Cajigas Vasquez, her baby brother Ruben and her sisters Rose V. Estrada, Herlinda Abril, Norma Torres, baby Mimimi and her daughter Virginia Dolly Vasquez. She is survived by her son Mike (Carrie) Vasquez, brothers Reyes (Sylvia) Vasquez, Silverio (Becky) Vasquez, brother-in-law Arthur Estrada, sister Mary Siddons, grandchildren Mikey, Juliana, Jamie, Angela, and great-grandchildren Ever, Oliver and Damian. She is survived by so many nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children.
