Virginia M. Groves passed away peacefully on December 24, 2017 at the age of 91. Virginia is survived by her daughter Margaret (Henry) Morales and son Clint "Butch", grandchildren Henry, Jr. (Myra), Robert Morales, and Cynthia (J.C.) Galas, and was a great grandmother to five great grandchildren. Virginia was born October 10, 1926 to the late Luis T. and Isabel C. Melendez. She was preceded in death by her husband Emerson "Bud" Groves, daughter Diana Marie, brothers Luis, Jr., Efrain, Benjamin, and Ernesto Melendez, sister Maria Urquijo and great granddaughter Avery Galas. Virginia worked many years as a sales clerk at Charm Clothing Store and in the men's department at Phelps Dodge Mercantile and worked as a book keeper for her husband's second-hand store, retiring to be a full-time homemaker. Virginia was involved with the Special Olympics and was an active member of the VFW Auxiliary. Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Brown Page Mortuary. A Rosary for Virginia will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Immaculate Conception Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
