Socorro (Mom) passed away at TMC surrounded by her loving family and empathetic TMC staff.  She was a true warrior battling illnesses we knew nothing of.   She also missed her spouse (Dad) terribly since his passing.  Her spouse (Dad) passed away 1 year and two months prior but her routine continued and never changed.  When our family thinks of our Mom, we think of strength, unconditional love, compassion, empathy, and a giving heart.  I can think of so much more but honestly if you had the pleasure/honor to have known her you would have won the jackpot.  She will be terribly missed by all who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Santos M. Leon, her sons Daniel Leon Sr. and Ricardo Leon, her grandsons Leonardo Leon and Daniel Leon, Jr., her mother Santos Friend, father Fred Friend, and brother Fred Friend.  She is survived by her son, David Leon and daughter, Diana Leon Serafin (David); grandchildren, Francisco Leon, Ariana Leon Sarafin, Leonardo Leon Serafin, Angel Acosta, David Serafin, Jr. (Taylor), Naydine Serafin, Yvette Galaviz (Christian), Daniel Serafin (Elena); her siblings Abraham Friend (Aucensia), Reynaldo Friend, Rene Friend (Margaret), Rudy Friend (Francis), Reyes "Chapo" Friend (Maria), Katalina Sanchez (Felipe) and numerous great-grandchildren, nephews and nieces who she adored.  She is also survived by two ladies that she held close, Connie Leon and Maria Chiquette, who were in her life for years.

A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at St. Luke's Catholic Church followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m.
