Simon B.
Villa
Feb 18, 1934 — Jun 14, 2022
In Loving Memory of Simon B. Villa
Simon was born on February 18, 1934, and passed peacefully on June 14, 2002, in Tucson, AZ at the age of eighty-eight.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juana Maria Barcelo and Rafael Villa, his sons Simon Antonio, Francisco Martin and Jose Refugio Villa and his grandson Arturo Romero Jr.
He is survived by his wife in marriage for 60 years Elizabeth Villa, his daughters Dalila Romero (Gerardo Burgos), Juana Maria Burquez (Arnoldo Burquez), and Gertrudes "Goly" Villa (Sergio Ortiz †), sixteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five sibling, nieces and nephews.
Our father was born and raised in Agua Prieta, Son. and immigrated to the USA by naturalization in late 60s. He worked and retired from the City of Douglas. On his spare times he would work doing side jobs. He was a perfectionist handyman who loved building, doing woodwork or mechanic in his shop while listening to music and was always willing to share his handyman skills with anyone that would ask. He also liked watching western movies, boxing, soccer or baseball while drinking coffee. Those who knew him or were his friends enjoyed his great sense of humor, jokes, conversations and storytelling of his childhood and/or life experiences.
Our dad will be greatly missed by his family, but we take comfort knowing that he is at peace in God's presence and with his loved ones.
Viewing is scheduled for Thursday, June 23, 2022, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary being recited from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brown Page Mortuary. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1211 E. 15th Street. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Douglas, AZ.
Thank you in advance from the Villa Family for all your prayers and support in this time of sorrow.
