Ruben D. Ramirez went to be with our Lord on March 2, 2018.  Ruben was born on September 5, 1948, in Douglas, Arizona to Guadalupe and Francisco Ramirez.  He was the seventh of nine children.

Ruben graduated from Douglas High School and then The University of Arizona with high honors and was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society.  He earned degrees in History, Spanish and Education.  Ruben decided he wanted to be a teacher by the time he was eight years old and taught for thirty-three years at Congress Street School and Utterback Middle School in Tucson.  He enjoyed his life's work and stressed the importance of education to his students and parents.

On August 15, 1980 Ruben married Judee.  They cherished the thirty-seven years of happiness they spent together.

Ruben was a man of integrity.  He was a kind, generous, helpful and compassionate.  His guiding principle in life was Mark 12:30-31, "Love God and love your neighbor as yourself."  Ruben enjoyed reading biographies, doing crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and walking.

Ruben is survived by his wife, Judee, sisters Minnie (Frank Cornejo), Alice Berogan, Bertha England (Bill), Maggie Ramirez, brothers Jorge (Chris), Frank, brother-in-law, Vito, sisters-in-law Regina (Tom) and Nancy Joy, along with several nieces and nephews.
