Our beloved Mother and Nana peacefully entered into eternal life surrounded by her loving family on August 31, 2017. Rosita was born in Pilares, Sonora, Mexico on December 12, 1925 to Robert and Esther Reyes and moved to Douglas at the age of 3 where she lived her entire life. She attended Douglas schools and during World War II she worked at the Air Base in Douglas. She married the love of her life, Tomas after he returned from World War II. She was a homemaker and was solely committed to her husband and children. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a shining light who truly made a difference to all by her presence. To know Rosita was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband, Tomas and her brother, Rafael Reyes. She is survived by her children, Frank (Pearl) Romero, Linda Wade, Elva (Vincent) Cardenas, Tommy (Denise) Romero, Mario (Monica) Romero, her sister Elodia Reyes and her special niece Esther. She was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Rosary to be recited Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Immaculate Conception Church and Funeral Mass will be Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:30 am at Saint Luke's Church, burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ernie Romero, Jr., Tomas (TJ) Romero, Zachary Vance, Alexis Romero, Mike Cardenas, Manny Morales and Danny Lopez, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Frank Romero, Tommy Romero, Mario Romero and Vincent Cardenas.
She is in heaven dancing and free. Rosa's family would like to extend a warm thank you to family, friends and all of the staff at Haven of Douglas. God Bless you all.
