Rodolfo "Rudy" Ortega of Douglas, AZ, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family at the age of 91. Rodolfo was born on May 17, 1931, in Nacozari de Garcia, Sonora, Mexico. He was the only child of Isabel Ortega de Valenzuela.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Jesús (Alma Delia), María del Socorro (Luis), Guadalupe (Oscar) and Francisco (Rosa María); grandchildren: Jannet, Eric, Sergio, Melissa, Jessica, Oscar, Vanessa, Lizette and Adrian; and 18 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Socorro Ortega after 69 years of marriage, his mother Isabel Ortega de Valenzuela and grandson, Jesús.

For Rodolfo nothing was more important than his family. In his younger years he liked the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and target shooting. He and his wife Socorro were very involved with the church in Agua Prieta, and happily helped with activities and fundraisers.

Rodolfo departed to be with his wife precisely on her birthday. He couldn't wait any longer to meet her in heaven.

A private service will be held due to COVID-19 safety precautions. A celebration of Rodolfo's life will be held at a later date. We look forward to celebrating our beloved father's life. He will be truly missed.
