Rita Reyna Duran Samaniego, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2023 in Douglas, Arizona.  She was born on January 6, 1935 in Cumpas, Sonora to Emiliano and Elena Macias Duran.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Eusebio Samaniego and daughter Irma Celia Romo.  She is survived by her son Bernardo Samaniego (Rosie), daughter Ana Elena Bernal (Arturo), son-in-law Francisco Romo, brother Angel Duran (Ernestina) and sister Juany Esquer (Delfino).  She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.  A Rosary will be recited at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. Luke's Catholic Church followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 a.m.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.   Pallbearers who will serve are Gerardo Romo, Bernardo Samaniego Jr., Arturo Bernal, Jr., Adrian Romo, Robert Samaniego, Anthony Moreno, Jr.    Honorary Pallbearers will be Arturo Bernal, Francisco Romo, Anthony Moreno, Martin Samaniego, Andres Garcia and Antonio Zepeda.
