Ricardo Hernandez Hernandez

Ricardo Hernandez, Age 88 of Douglas Arizona passed away peacefully on the morning of March 24th 2026 surrounded by his loved ones.

Ricardo Hernandez "Tata" was a well-known man. Anyone who knew him knew he was very particular. He liked things a specific way and followed the same routines religiously. Every morning he woke up at 3 AM, he would wash his face brush his teeth and like Grandma says would take half an hour to brush his three little hairs. He would make his coffee and heavily butter his bread to toast it. He would then turn on his incense and pray to The Virgen. This was his faithful everyday routine. You could bet on it. And Tata would bet on it him and Grandma loved the casino. He was a handyman, always staying busy making salsa, making Pepinos, making nopales. He was always fixing something, making something, staying busy. He was a hard-working man who never let his age or disabilities slow him down. His resilience and discipline taught us all. Tata was not a quitter. Even when he was paralyzed from Guillain-Barre syndrome at 42 years old, the doctor said he would never walk again. Three years 7 1/2 months later he was walking right out of that wheelchair. He was a stubborn man. There was no telling him no, not even that he would never walk again. He knew what he wanted and always accomplished his goals at hand. He was a father of four boys, Ricardo, Johnny, Jesus and Reyes. Grandfather to 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was loved by all and will be missed by all. His immense love lives on in all of us, especially by his preceded wife Antonia Reyes Hernandez. Who was his faithful partner in whom he placed all of his trust.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain and resting is with the Angels. Tata leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, faith, and unconditional love that will continue to guide us. We will carry his strength, resilience and his spirit with us always.

Descansa en paz, Tata. You will forever live in our hearts.
