Obituary

Ramiro D. Ramirez passed away on Saturday morning at the Haven of Douglas.  He was born on January 4, 1926 in Douglas, Arizona to Maria de la Torre and Juan P. Ramirez.  Ramiro was preceded in death by his wife Bertha M. Ramirez and his son Salvador M. Ramirez.  He is survived by his sons Juan A. (Carmen) Ramirez of Sierra Vista, and Armando (Pam) Ramirez of Colorado, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as countless friends.

Ramiro served in the Navy during WW II aboard the USS WASP on the Pacific Ocean theater. Later he worked for Phelps Dodge and retired after 33 years.   Ramiro was a devout Catholic and devoted many hours to visiting the sick in the Douglas area.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 850 10 th Street, Douglas, Arizona. Burial of his ashes will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
