Obituary

Pedro "Machaca" S. Valdez, 81 years old, a long-time resident of Douglas, AZ died peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on September 19, 2023.

Born November 10, 1941 in Cananea, Sonora Mexico a son of the late Humberto Valdez Mesa of Cananea, Sonora, Mexico and late Consuelo Salazar Martinez of Bacuachi, Sonora Mexico.  Pedro was a retired assistant manager from the convenience store Circle K.  Pedro and his wife enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren.  He was a baseball fanatic and played in his younger years and enjoyed watching the Diamondbacks play every season.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Cecilia (Durazo) Valdez from Granados, Sonora Mexico; three daughters Vanessa Valdez, Anabel Abril (Rick Abril) and Cecilia Garzon (Juan Pablo Garzon) and son Robert Marrufo (son of late Norma Marrufo, wife Claudia Marrufo); many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his siblings Humberto "Chapo" Valdez, Socorro "Coyo" Valdez (Camilo Gastelum), and Consuelo Valdez (Enrique Harris) and many nieces and nephews but he loved them all.

The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 – 7:00 PM, Rosary at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Brown-Page Mortuary.  Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Pedro "Machaca" S. Valdez de 81 años de edad fue un residente de muchos años de Douglas, AZ fallecio tranquilo rodeado de seres queridos el 19 de septiembre del 2023.

Nacido el 10 de noviembre de 1941 en Cananea, Sonora Mexico hijo del difunto Humberto Valdez Mesa de Cananea, Sonora Mexico y la difunta Consuelo Salazar Martinez de Bacuachi, Sonora Mexico.  Pedro se retiro como manejador asistente de la tienda Circle K y logro muchas amistades y dejo recuerdos gratos.  El y su esposa amaban pasar tiempo con sus hijos e nietos.  El era fanatico del beisbol ya que lo jugo en su juventud y le encantaba ver jugar al equipo de Diamondbacks cada temporada.

Es sobrevivido de 45 años de casado por su esposa, Cecilia (Durazo) Valdez de Granados, Sonora Mexico; tres hijas Vanessa Valdez, Anabel Abril (Rick Abril) y Cecilia Garzon (Juan Pablo Garzon) y un hijo Robert Marrufo (hijo de la fallecida Norma Marrufo, esposa Claudia Marrufo); muchos nietos y bisnietos.  Tambien es sobrevivido por sus hermanos Humberto "Chapo" Valdez, Socorro "Coyo" Valdez (Camilo Gastelum), y Consuelo Valdez (Enrique Harris) y muchas sobrinas y sobrinos a los cuales quiso mucho.

La familia recibira a amistades el martes, 26 de septiembre del 2023 de 1:00 – 7:00 PM con un Rosario a las 6:00 PM en Brown-Page Mortuary.  Misa sera celebrada el miercoles 27 de septiembre del 2023 a las 11:00 AM en la Iglesia Inmaculada Concepcion, entierro seguira en Calvary Cemetery.
