Obituary

On Tuesday January 5, 2021 Pedro L. Garcia peacefully went to be with our Lord. He lived a beautiful, blessed life of 98 years.

Pedro was a hard worker all through his life.  As a teen he would ride a horse to Elfrida to work as a farm hand, was able to work at Grand Theatre cleaning in between shows, also worked in the Ice Plant as well as Douglas Social Golf Club and Loretto School. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII. He worked for Phelps Dodge both in Morenci and Douglas, until his retirement. He volunteered his time to St. Bernard's Catholic Church, as well as community events, friends and family he was always willing to lend a hand. Pedro loved Baseball, he played in the annual Pirtleville Father's Day "old timers" game, he helped coach the Pirtleville All-stars, as well as his sons little league teams CYC, Grand Theater, PD Merc. And Yellow Jackets.

He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Garcia, his parents Nazario & Teresa, his brothers Juan, Manuel, Jose (Chema) and sister Paulita, and his grandson Lil Edmund.  He is survived by his four sons – Ernie (Cristina, Christopher, Melanie, Gerardo, & Marlena), Eloy (Rosemary, Ricky & Rene), Eddie (Roxanne), Edmund (Cynthia), and daughter Melissa (Don, Shawna, Ryan & Tanya). 29 Great Grandkids & 5 Great Great Grandkids. He is also survived by his sisters Mary Altamirano, Socorro Durazo and brother Vicente.

We Love You and will miss you so much Dad, Grandpa, Grandpa Pete, Mr. Pete! Memorial services will be held at a later time.
