Pete Beltran, 98, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026. Born on December 19, 1927 son of Rafaela and Jose Beltran, in Douglas, Arizona, Pete lived a remarkable life defined by service, hard work, generosity, and devotion to family.

Pete is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Norma Beltran; his daughters, Alice Woolley, Barbara Bird (Dan), Connie Rodriguez (Henry), and Monica Lamparter (Keith); his sister, Lupe Prince; and his brother, Manuel Granillo. He was a proud and devoted Tata to 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Rachel Beltran, with whom he shared 24 years of marriage; his son, Peter David Beltran (Celia); and nine siblings.

Pete leaves behind a legacy of compassion, generosity, service, and unwavering love for his family and friends. Family was at the center of his life. A hardworking and determined man, Pete took great pride in every chapter of his career. He proudly served his country as a U.S. Air Force veteran and dedicated 26 years to the City of Douglas Fire Department. One of his proudest accomplishments was his retirement from the department, and he was honored to be recognized as the oldest living retired firefighter in the State of Arizona. Following retirement, Pete continued to serve his community through his work as a Terminal Manager for Consolidated Freightways, with the Forest Service, and as the owner and operator of an Electrolux Vacuum Center.

Pete embraced life with enthusiasm and adventure. He enjoyed dancing, camping, woodworking, hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, roller skating, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. If Pete set his mind to something, there was little he could not do—he even learned to ski without taking a lesson. Well into his later years, he maintained his daily routine of walking two miles a day, five days a week.

He was known for enjoying a simple ham sandwich for lunch and, on special occasions, a good shot of tequila or a glass of champagne. One of his greatest joys was his cabin in Paradise, Arizona, where he spent 20 wonderful years surrounded by nature, hosting family gatherings and creating cherished memories. Throughout his life, Pete was an active member of the Lions Club, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and St. Luke's Catholic Church.

Pete's greatest gift was the love he shared with those around him. His kindness, strength, humor, and generous spirit touched countless lives and will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

We are never granted enough time with the people we love. Though Pete has become a treasured memory, his legacy will remain a blessing and an inspiration to his family and friends for generations to come.
