On December 31 ^st our beloved Father, Husband and Grandfather earned his wings to Heaven. O'Neil Watkins went to be with our Lord on December 31, 2020. He was born on April 28, 1942 in Fairmont West Virginia to parents Pauline Hyatt Watkins and Neil Watkins. He attended school in Fairmont, West Virginia and followed family members to Douglas Arizona in 1965. He married the love of his life, Mary Elena Barrios in 1967 at Immaculate Concepcion Church in Douglas Arizona, and they have 4 children.   He is survived by his beautiful bride Mary, and their 4 children,  Billy Watkins (Dorina), Joseph Watkins (Marianna), John Watkins (Elisa), and Deirdre Cristina Watkins. He is also survived by Luis Juarez, Manny Navarro, Michael Bustillos, Victoria Novoa, and Carmen Martinez whom he cherished as his own children and his Grandchildren, Madeline, Madison, Ethan, Shania, Haley, Kelly, Edgardo, Luis, and Maryed. He is also survived by his Sister- in- law Martha Barrios. Also survived by several cousins from the Families of the Hyatts, the Murrays, and the Tricketts.  He is preceded in death by his parents Pauline and Neil Watkins and Step-Father George Hatt. O'Neil was the oldest Grandchild on his maternal side of Iva M and Jefferson E Hyatt. His mother being the eldest child, passed away at the age of 50 and all her other siblings, his Aunts and Uncles, have also passed being, Jack Hyatt, Muriel "Peck" Hyatt, Junior Jefferson Hyatt, Velma Hyatt, Elizabeth "Libby" Hyatt Allowatt, Loraine Hyatt Trickett, Alma Hyatt Murray, and Irma Hyatt. One Sister, Ann Marie Watkins also precedes him in death. O'Neil enjoyed and loved his Family. His life was devoted to loving on his Grandchildren and his Children and his wife Mary. He loved all children. O'Neil worked as a Mechanic and loved tinkling with his old truck and he shared that knowledge with others of whom he helped along the way. He enjoyed fishing with his Family and one special Uncle, Tom Murray, and he enjoyed hunting and camping out with his Family in tow. He loved working on his toy train sets and wood working. O'Neil's career spanned many years as a Mechanic, and he worked for Phelps Dodge Smelter in Douglas Arizona and Playas New Mexico for over 30 years. He also worked as Security for Desert Eagle Security for the drone out by Cochise College until he decided retirement was right for him. He since devoted his time to his hobbies and loving his Family and caring for his wife Mary. You could drive by in the afternoon and see them sitting on the porch with his favorite drink in hand, Diet Coke, along with his favorite snack, popcorn.  You will be dearly missed by your Children and Grandchildren. Fly high and enjoy your new eternal life.
