NELLIE BECKSTEAD
October 10, 1921 – October 26, 2013
Nellie Beckstead passed away Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the Haven of Douglas at the age of 92, when she joined her eternal companion, family and Heavenly Father in Heaven. Nellie was born to Charles and Emma Coombs on October 10, 1921, the youngest of nine children. She was born and raised in Central, Arizona. On August 12, 1938, she married Paul Beckstead of Globe, Arizona. They had two daughters, Maxine Jacks (John) of Douglas, Arizona and Paula Foster of Big River, California. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Paul; great grandson Jonathan Paul Jacks; her parents; brothers Ted and Max; sisters Lena, Lillian, Veda, Verl and Emma. Nellie leaves behind daughters Maxine (John) and Paula; two grandchildren Rodney (Karla) Jacks and Michael (Amber) Byrd; three great grandchildren Katie (Travis) Mikkelson, Weston Jacks and Lacey Byrd; seven great great grandchildren Ashlyn, Logan and Gavin Mikkelson and Colton, Storey, Lucy and Talon Jacks as well as several nieces, nephews and Loved ones. She will be laid to rest on Friday, November 1, 2013. Visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Douglas, Arizona at 10:00 a.m. followed by funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers who will serve are John Jacks, Rodney Jacks, Michael Byrd, Phil Beckstead, Bob Grainger and Travis Mikkelson.
