Obituary

Miguel Angel Barreras passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Banner University Hospital in Tucson, AZ on March 21, 2018.

Miguel Angel was born on January 5, 1951 in Douglas, to the late Miguel Barreras and Amparo Burgueno. He is preceded in death by his father Miguel Barreras. He is survived by his mother Amparo, sister Elba (Rafael Lopez), brothers Martin, Franzhua (Donna), Rene (Celia) and Omar, nephews, nieces and many relatives.

Miguel Angel attended Loretto Catholic School and Douglas High School graduating in 1969. He also attended the University of Arizona. He served in the National Guard and was honorably discharged on February 19, 1976.

He loved playing sports with baseball and basketball been his favorites. He played in the Babe Ruth World Series that was held in Douglas. He also played basketball with the All-Star Team in Agua Prieta, Sonora.

He will be deeply missed by all those who loved him.

A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 also at Immaculate Conception Church.
