Miguel Alva of Douglas, Arizona passed away on June 30, 2019 of natural causes.  Mr. Alva was 78 years old at the time of his passing.  Miguel was born in Georgia and in his early formative years he and his family moved west and ended up in Douglas.  Miguel found employment with the Douglas School District working in the print shop.  He held that position for 25 years.  Miguel was known as a hunter and sharpshooter.  His home was filled with weapons and trophies from both competitions and hunting.  Miguel was predeceased by his parents, his wife Sarah and his brother Ruben.  He is survived by his brothers Bernardo Alva of Tucson, Arizona, brother-in-law Steve Reas of Florida, children Kathleen Stephens, John Stephens and Vernon Stephens all of Florida and granddaughter Brenn Simonen of Oregon.  Per his instructions, there will be no services and he will be interred in Florida next to his deceased wife.  Donations may be made in Miguel's name to Douglas ARC or a charity of your choice.
