Mary Kathryn Ruterman, 67, passed away on May 5, 2015 in Hereford, Arizona from pancreatic cancer. She was born in Philipsburg, PA on September 19, 1947. She was adopted by Frank and LouEmma (Fish) Pierwola in 1952. They moved to Globe, AZ in 1954 where she attended Globe Public Schools, graduating in 1965. She moved to Phoenix, AZ in 1966 where she met Richard Ruterman in 1967. They married in 1968 in Douglas, AZ then resided in Phoenix until 1977 at which time they moved to Hereford, AZ. Mary worked for Motorola (Phoenix) for 10 ½ years, H & R Transfer (Secretary), Food Giant (Bookkeeper), Sierra Vista Police Department (Records Clerk & Dispatcher), UPS (Driver), the U.S. Postal Service for 14 years (Carrier, Clerk, OIC) and Stan Greer Millworks (Office).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and LouEmma Pierwola, her stepbrother, Bob Kohute, and her stepbrother, Ron Kohute.
She was survived by: Husband, Richard of Hereford, Arizona; brother, Gary Pierwola, of Chula Vista, CA; sister Marilyn Reeves of Imperial Beach, CA; brother Jeffrey Pierwola of San Diego, CA; her stepmother, Marie Fish; stepsister, Donna; stepsister, Sharon, all from PA and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation prior to the Funeral Mass will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Brown Page Mortuary, 910 F Avenue. Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church, 928 C. Avenue in Douglas, AZ with Father Gilbert Malu as the celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Douglas, AZ. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested a donation be made in Mary's memory to "Casa De La Paz" Hospice Center, 300 El Camino Real, Sierra Vista, AZ 85635.
