Mary D. Mejia age 79 passed away peacefully on January 6, 2013, surrounded and loved dearly by her family. She was born and raised in Douglas and Pirtleville Arizona. She is preceded in death by her parents Gilbert and Dolores De La Vara, and husband Jose B. Mejia which were married for 62 years. She leaves behind her sisters and brothers, Gilbert, Ernie, Rosario and Yolanda De La Vara. Children: Patricia (Luis) Ortega, Cecilia (Eddie) Price, Julie (Fred) Ramirez, Linda (Eddie) Molina and Pablo (Dina) Mejia, 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grand children. She is also survived by Maria Cecilia Escobedo, Maria Luisa Rodriguez, Elena De La Vara, and Tomas Lugo.

She was a homemaker and well known for her crocheting, plaster of Paris figuring, and taking care of the animals at the ranch. Our fond memories of her were taking care of her grandchildren and great-grand children. Her favorite foods were enchiladas and hamburgers.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Brown Page Mortuary. Visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a funeral service being held at 11:00 a.m. Following her wishes, Mary will be cremated following her services.
