Martin Flores Moreno, age 71, beloved father and a lifelong resident of Douglas, Arizona, passed away peacefully in his sleep on the morning of Friday, January 26, 2024, in Tucson, Arizona after a long and painful battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loved ones.

Martin served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1971-1975. He traveled the world while stationed on the USS Midway. He was a proud veteran.

In the community, Martin can be most notably remembered as a bus driver for the City of Douglas, Cochise Connection, and Catholic Community Services for many years. As a bus driver, he became familiar with many of the Douglas, Bisbee, and Sierra Vista residents in his daily travels. He enjoyed meeting new people and engaging with everyone who rode his bus.

Martin was an avid Arizona Wildcats fan. He would regularly attend football and softball games in Tucson with his daughter and son-in-law. Bear Down!

Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Emma Moreno, and siblings, Jose, Issac, Alfonso, Louis (Tibs), and Olga Moreno.

Martin was a beloved father, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his only daughter, Carmen (Rafael) Maldonado. He is also survived by siblings Carmen Escarcega, Socorro Ramirez, Julia Gollihar, Angie Moreno, and Frank "Pancho" Moreno.

Martin may have left this earth too soon, but his memory will live on forever in the hearts and souls of those around him.  His family finds solace knowing he is no longer in pain. He will always be remembered for his strong will and determination.  When he set his mind to something he would do everything in his power to make it a reality.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Brown Page Mortuary. Martin has opted for his body to be cremated.

A Rosary for Martin will be recited at 10:15 am on Friday, February 9, 2024, at St. Luke's Catholic Church followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00 am.   Burial of his ashes will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.

Rest in peace, Martin. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
