Our dear mother, Maria J. Romero, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 17, 2024. She was surrounded by all of her children and family members. Maria was born in Cumpas, Sonora, Mexico on December 26, 1935.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Manuel T. Romero (1925– 2003). She is survived by her children, Linda, Sylvia, Luz (David Hammarstrom), Manuel ,(Joanne) Martina, Denise, and Oscar; her sister, Socorro Manasco; many grandchildren and even more great grandchildren. She was an amazing homemaker, seamstress, and excellent cook. She was our rock and our strength and taught us many values and virtues in life lessons. She has left behind a legacy and a lifetime of memories. She is resting in peace alongside our heavenly Lord and will be greatly missed.

Arrangements are being handled by Brown Page Mortuary. Visitation will be held at 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm  on Friday, February 22, 2024 at Brown Page Mortuary with a Rosary being recited at 6:00 pm.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 23, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church, 928 C Avenue in Douglas, Arizona.  Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Pallbearers who will serve are Frank Hurtado, Jr., Eric Hurtado, Andres, Romero, Mark Romero, Estevan Ibara, and Ian Hammarstrom. Honorary pallbearer will be Manuel Romero Jr.

A celebration of life will be held following the burial at the Lion's Club, 1501 9th St. Douglas, AZ 85607.
