Maria Elena Moreno "Nena" born on October 28, 1955 in Douglas, AZ; passed away peacefully at Pepi's house in Tucson, AZ on September 26, 2021.   She was a proud, devoted, and loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  Survived by her husband Sergio B Moreno, daughters Melissa Ritchey (Chris); Aleida Varela (David) and son Sergio Moreno (Frances); her grandchildren Julian, Jase, Izaiah, Ava, Emma and Alanni and her siblings; Rosa Jimenez, Jesus Greer, Lupe Trevino, Luis Greer and Veronica Coronado and many nieces and nephews.  Nena was employed by the Douglas Unified School District and served many students and their families for over 25 years at Sarah Marley Elementary School. She loved her work and the many dear friends she made throughout the years.  Nena will be remembered for her genuine kindness, her big heart and her beautiful smile.  She will be missed dearly.   Nena's last wishes included making a donation to Beads of Courage to support children with cancer in lieu of flowers. https://beadsofcourage.networkforgood.com/projects/140436-in-memory-of-maria-elena-moreno .

The Holy Rosary will be recited at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Brown Page Mortuary.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church.  Following her wishes, Nena will be cremated following the Mass with her ashes being laid to rest at East Lawn Palms Cemetery In Tucson, Arizona on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 3:00 p.m.
