Maria De Los Angeles "Angie" (Acedo) Rivas, 68 of Douglas AZ passed away Sunday January 8, 2017 in Tucson AZ. Angie was born in Douglas to Manuel and Socorro Acedo on March 10, 1948. She attended grade school through college in Douglas AZ and was a proud Bulldog. She was a secretary for the Douglas Unified School Districts, Bisbee, and Sierra Vista School Districts. She resided in Sierra Vista, AZ. Her true passions were her Sons, photography, Arizona wildlife, and was an avid birder, she was a true pioneer. Angie is survived by her sons, Arthur Wayne (Heidi) Rivas, Andrew (Nadia) Rivas, Anthony Rivas, sisters Carolina Gutierrez, Grace Davis; brothers Manuel Acedo, Luis Acedo, Rodolfo "Fito" Acedo, Bernardo Acedo, and her dogs Chiquita and Peanut. She is preceeded in death by her former spouse, Father of her sons, Arthur Rivas. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday January 20, 2017 at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Douglas AZ. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday January 21, 2017 also at St. Luke's Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A celebration of Angie's life will be held at the B.P.O. Elks Lodge following burial.
