Obituary

Our heavenly father called Herminia, lovingly known to all as Miloli, home at the fine age of 92; she passed peacefully with her children at her side. In death, she was reunited with her husband of fifty-six years, Roberto C. Marrufo, and their eldest daughter Norma Elsa Valdez. She is survived by her children Maria Luisa Amarillas (Carlos), Robert L. Marrufo (Arcelia), Rudy L. Marrufo (Tereza), Robert V. Marrufo, (Claudia). Grandchildren Michael, Robert L, Carlos, Manuel, Rudy, and Daniel-Roberto, Francisco, Montserrat , Damien, Angela, Areliz, Alonso, and Daniel Edgardo. Her eldest sister Ernestina L. Escarcega also survives her. Miloli loved being a homemaker and did it exceptionally well. As a Douglas resident for 92 years, she was also an unofficial Douglas historian with an intact memory of all things Douglas. One of Miloli's proudest achievements was saving all of the pay her husband sent her as a soldier during WWII and used it to buy a piece of property, and started construction of their first home all while he was away. A Rosary for Miloli will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at the Brown Page Mortuary Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church with Father Gilbert Malu officiating.
