Margarita
Estrada
Jun 11, 1937 — Jun 17, 2024
Margarita Estrada died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family in Chandler AZ on June 17th. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Gabriel Estrada in 1997, her parents Angel and Concepcion Enriquez, six brothers and sisters and numerous nephews. She is survived by her children who she loved more than anything else in life, Elsa Medina-Estrada (Cesar), Enrique (Adriana), Gabriel Jr. (Cecilia), her adored grandchildren Gabriel III, Adrian, Enrique Jr., Braulio, Adair, her adored niece Irma Enriquez and numerous nephews and nieces.
Margarita was a beacon of sunshine always had a smile on her face. She will be remembered by her kindness and sweet natured demeanor. Those who entered her house never left empty handed as she always had something to share with them.
She was a long-time resident of Douglas. She settled in Douglas in 1973, where she and Gabriel raised their three children. After her husband's passing, the birth of her grandchildren injected new life and energy into her life. She spent the latter years accompanying her children and grandchildren on numerous trips and was very active in their lives. She even went on her dream vacation to Europe with her daughter.
In the fall of 2022, she was diagnosed with lung cancer. She moved in with her daughter in Chandler to receive medical attention. She bravely fought this terrible disease with all her might. However, the treatments took a toll on her body and eventually entered hospice care. For the last seven months of her life, her children and the rest of her family and friends showered her with love and affection and together created the most beautiful memories with her.
We will miss her delicious meals, her infectious laughter, her "dichos," and mainly her unconditional love. We are grateful for the 87 years of love she gave this world; we are all better for it. She is now resting, free from pain and discomfort and waiting to be reunited with her husband and family members in the resurrection.
