Marcelino Garcia Hernandez, 79, went to be with his Lord and Saviour on October 15, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at his side in Tucson Arizona. Marcelino was born in Gila New Mexico on April 26th, 1938 to Guadalupe and Juanita G. Hernandez and was one of five children. He had lived in Douglas, Az for many years after relocating from Deming, NM where he had lived most of his life. He retired from the New Mexico State Highway Department after 17 years of service. Marcelino had a love for hunting, fishing, watching the Arizona Diamondbacks and taking care of his classic 1989 Dodge Ram. He also had a talent for playing his guitar and singing Spanish songs. Family was most important to him and he never hesitated to help in whatever way he could. He was a story teller and laughter was always the center of his conversation. He was easily loved because of his witty personality. He is survived by his wife Elvia Hernandez, daughters Rosemary (Ruben) Chavira, Christina Hernandez, and Marylou (Manuel) Lozano, step-children Rick (Dianna) Perez, Mauricio Bracamontes, and Linda (Raul) Murrieta. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son, Marcelino Hernandez Jr., two brothers, Julian and Pablino Hernandez, and two sisters, Facunda H. Romero and Magdalena H. Piñon. At his request, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held on November 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m., at the Complete Transformation Church located at 1400 S. Ruby Street in Deming, New Mexico with Pastor Ruben Chavira presiding. The daughters of Marcelino Hernandez would like to express their appreciation to his many friends in the Douglas and Deming areas.
