Lorenzo was called to be with his Lord on Monday, April 1st, 2024, at the Copper Queen Hospital, Bisbee, AZ, following a heart attack. He died peacefully surrounded by his wife and loving family. Lorenzo was the first of the third generation of the Ramirez Family. His paternal ancestors came from Aguas Calientes, Mexico, in 1915 and settled in the Sulfur Springs Valley Area. His grandparents, Rosario and Felipa Ramirez, were farmers and ranchers who homesteaded in McNeal, AZ.

Lorenzo was born in Douglas AZ, on December 7, 1939, to Julia Cordova de Ramirez and Luciano Ramirez, Sr. Lorenzo spent his early years in Elfrida, AZ, where his family had their 200 acre farm. His early life on a farm gave him a great appreciation of nature. In 1952 the family sold their farm and moved to Douglas. Lorenzo took pride in the fact that as young teenager, he had helped his dad build their new house in Douglas. Soon after Lorenzo moved to Antioch, California where he stayed with paternal relatives. Once he completed his education he moved back to Douglas. In 1962, he met and married his first wife Eileen Embleton, from Pirtleville. When they started their family, they moved to Tucson to find more job opportunities. There he worked at the Anaconda copper mine for about 20 years as a heavy equipment operator. After Lorenzo retired, he moved to Bisbee, AZ, where he was a resident for the past 38 years.

Lorenzo, a "Jack of all trades", had many interests and hobbies. In the 90's, he and his second wife, Angie, were owners of A AND L CURIOSITIES, a store in Old Bisbee that sold southwest antiques, handcrafted items, collectibles, and clothing. He enjoyed constructing furniture such as bookcases and bookshelves, cabinets, bird houses from recycled wood. He built bird nests and baskets out of old wire. He collected horseshoes to build chairs and other items with. Another favorite hobby was making crosses out of wood, copper, or tin. He would make wind chimes out of old silverware. He was always so creative and shared his creations with family and friends. He was always making something, reading - in particular his Bible, or collecting antiques, old iron or wood objects. He also loved collecting rocks, especially turquoise and chrysocolla. He enjoyed TV programs that focused on home construction, gardening, farming, and travel. He had a love for all animals. He bred beautiful Rottweilers, and Dobermans, had many cats, and loved birdwatching.

Lorenzo is preceded in death by his parents, Luciano and Julia, his brother Alfonzo Ramirez, and his ex-wife Eileen Embleton. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Angie, of Bisbee; son, Paul Ramirez (Tina) of Tucson AZ; daughter Laura Barger (Bryan) of Phoenix AZ, and step-daughter, Charrmaine Boykin-Salazar, of Bisbee, AZ; sisters Olga Ramirez de Miguez, (Gerald) of Hereford AZ, Maria A. McGinnis (Michael) of Douglas, AZ, Belem Ramirez Ruiz, Douglas, AZ, Luciana Ramirez Ruiz, Tucson, AZ; brother Luciano Ramirez, Jr. (Tonia), of Palm Springs, CA, Alfonso Ramirez Ruiz; grandchildren Nicola Fulk , Shay Ramirez, and Madison Ramirez; nieces Elizabeth Madero, Julie Warner, Eryka Ramirez-Estrada, Yolanda Ramirez; nephews Albert Ramirez, Alfonso Ramirez, Jr., Alex Ramirez, Adrian Ramirez, and Alvin Ramirez.

A Rosary for Lorenzo will be recited at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Immaculate Conception Church.  A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 11:00 a.m.  Lorenzo's ashes will be interred with his mother at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity.
