Leonard Neil Kimble peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home in Sierra Vista, Arizona. Leonard was born on October 5, 1925 in Douglas, Arizona to Gus and Irene Kimble.
In 1942 he married his high school sweetheart, Lois Warnock. In June of 1945, during World War II, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served until his Honorable Discharge in November of 1946. During his service he earned the Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Upon his return home, Leonard and Lois resided at the Kimble Family Ranch where they lived and worked as cattle ranchers for 58 years until relocating to Sierra Vista. Even in the city, his country roots remained intact. He thoroughly enjoyed planting and caring for his backyard garden, generously sharing his bountiful harvest with family and neighbors.
Leonard was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Lois; parents, Gus and Irene Kimble; brother, Ralph Kimble, and granddaughter Lisa Speer. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 13 years, Harriet; daughters, Charlotte (Norman) Schwab of Sun City, Arizona and Sally (Thomas) Woodworth of Sahuarita, Arizona; sons, Mike (Lori Beth) Kimble of Justin, Texas, and David (Janie) Kimble of Spring Creek, Nevada and his sister, Mary Akers of Sierra Vista, Arizona. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Leonard was completely devoted to his faith in Jesus Christ. His passions included witnessing about Jesus, reading books, especially his Bible and visiting and praying with family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will live on in our memories and hearts forever.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Brown Page Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Robert Prudler officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the American Legion and VFW. Pallbearers who will serve are Mike Kimble, David D. Kimble, Norman Schwab, Thomas Woodworth, Richard Smith, Joe Kimble, and David I. Kimble. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Kimble and Jesus Yanes.
