Justo Mayorga Solis, 91, was born to the late Sebastian Acosta Solis and Petra Mayorga, in Mapimi, Durango, Mexico on July 18, 1929. Justo spent the majority of his life in Elfrida, AZ working in agriculture. He was the foreman at Valley Growers Cotton Gin. Justo was an honorable, hardworking man, and a dedicated Catholic. He was strong in his faith and remained involved within his community. Justo loved baseball, he was very active throughout his life and played sports until he was well into his eighties. He loved his cowboy western movies and always enjoyed a great comedy. Justo had a passion for music, between his memorable vocals and swift dance moves he was always the life of the party.
Justo was a family man. He grew up with 5 sisters and 4 brothers. On April 28, 1956, Justo married the love of his life, Domitila Mendoza. Throughout their 49 and a half years of marriage, Justo and Domitila were blessed with 8 children: Justo (Shari), Virginia (Gilbert), Dee (Paul), Erlinda (Albert), Clara (Daniel), Javier (Andrea), and Mike (Jennifer), 20 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. Justo was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, tata, and great tata. With his known powerful work ethic, he will continue to inspire and lead his family even in his passing.
On Thursday, May 13, 2021, Justo Solis passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. Justo is preceded in death by his wife, Domitila (Tila) in 2005, 1 son, 2 great grandchildren, one sister, and two brothers.
The Celebration of Justo's life will take place on Monday, May 24, 2021 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Elfrida, AZ. A walk-through viewing will be open to family and friends from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. A Rosary for Justo will be recited at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 11:00am. At this time, the Rosary and Mass are limited to immediate family only. Following the Mass, Justo Solis will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife at the Pirteville Cemetery in Pirtleville, AZ.
