Justin Carl Schmidt, 36 years of age, unexpectedly departed this earth on March15, 2026.  He leaves behind his one and only daughter Hailey Victoria Schmidt, his mother Maria (Angela) Rea, his sister, Ysenia and nieces, Isabelle and her baby, Mason, Anabelle, Angelena and Juliette.  He is also survived by his Tia Lydia, her children: Arianna, Diego, and Cynthia; his Tia Lupe and her children Christopher and Chrystal; along with other cousins Mark, Mario Andre, Miguel Angel, Orlando and Cruz Alejandro.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Moises G. and Carlota V. Rea and his Uncles Marco and Cruz Rea.

Justin was a quiet and reserved man of few words.  He attended Cochise College and graduated from the auto mechanic course.  He joined the U.S. Army and became a Bradley Tank maintainer.  He received the Army Good Conduct Medal. National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Army Service ribbon while enlisted.  After being honorably discharged, he moved to Phoenix, where he worked as a diesel mechanic.  He loved his job and took great pride in doing the best job possible.  He was an extraordinarily devoted and loving father to his daughter, Hailey.  He spoiled her to no end and they adored each other.  He was also a great son and was the pride and joy of his mother.

He will be tremendously missed and will forever be remembered with love.

Services will be held on May 9, 2026 in Douglas, Arizona.  Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM followed by Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church, 1211 E. 15th Street.    Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, 1501 E. 15th Street.

Reception at American Legion 1325 G Ave after burial until 4:00 PM.
