Josefina E. Owen, 81, passed away peacefully at home on August 13, 2014. Josefina was born in Nacozari, Sonora, Mexico on February 19, 1933. She was a Douglas resident for over 50 years. Her final days were spent with her family surrounding her. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was preceded to heaven by her parents Jesus and Refugia Encinas and her infant son Frank Owen. She is survived by her husband of 65 years William Q. Owen; children Lourdes Owen, Ana Rosa (Jose Jesus) Acuna, Josie (Sam) Tardibuono, Guillermo (Susy) Owen, Juan E. (Lupita) Owen, Mary (Raul) Perez; siblings Jesus (Ramona) Encinas, Maria (Joe) DeRuse, Manuela (Enrique) Hurtado; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law Aida N. (Frank) Owen, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many and forgotten by none. Visitation, Holy Rosary and Funeral Mass were held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church, officiated by Father Armando Espinoza and Deacon Armando Moulinet. Burial followed at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers, cards, calls, and support during this time.
