Jose "Chacho" Torres Greth, a beloved father, husband and friend passed away on May 1, 2026 at the age of 78.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Cecilia. His children, Joe David (Laurie), Amy (Danny), Stephen (Veronica), Robert (Angelica) and Allison. Beloved Grandchildren, Daniel, Sabell and Henry. Brother, Ricardo Greth and close cousin Maria Schuster along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo Greth and Paulina Torres Greth, and sister Guadalupe Leon.

He will be remembered as a generous and kind-hearted man. Known for his quick wit and love of joking, he always had something to say and never missed an opportunity to make someone smile. Stubborn in his own way, he stood firm in who he was—a trait that those who knew him came to understand and love. At heart, he remained a kid—playful, curious, and full of life.

In his early years, he enjoyed coaching his sons in Termite, Little League and Soccer and taking occassional hiking and camping trips with his family. During his downtime, he enjoyed sitting outside and working in his backyard and watching his favorite football team, the Arizona Cardinals.

He dedicated many years of his life working at Brown Page Mortuary, where he served with care and compassion until he was no longer able to continue. It was one of the places he cherished, along with his simple trips to Circle K, where he found comfort in routine and familiarity.

A special thank you is extended to his cousin, David Escarcega, who worked alongside him for many years and was truly his right-hand man. Their bond and partnership meant a great deal to him.

Above all, he was a devoted father who cared deeply for his loved ones. His warmth, humor, strong spirit, and unwavering generosity will leave a lasting imprint on all who knew him.

A Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church on May 15 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will be held at a later date.

Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the laughter he shared and the love he gave so freely.
