Jose Manuel Cabarga passed away on September 21st, 2024. Joe was born in Douglas on October 6th, 1947 to Isidoro and Carmen Cabarga. He was preceded in death by both his parents and brothers Elias, Tom and Isidoro. He graduated from Douglas High School in 1966 and immediately after graduation started working for the Phelps Dodge Corporation. He started out as laborer and later became part of the mill department until 1983. He was hard working and always ready and willing to help get the job done. He was employed as a bartender at the Elks, he worked at the Douglas Golf Club Proshop and drove for a medical transport service. Bowling and golf were things that he loved to do with his friends.  He is survived by his brother Tony and sister Carmen Cabarga, nieces Brenda Lee (Tom) Chadwick, Elda Orduno, and a nephew Del (Ada) Cabarga, grandnieces Karen and Liana Cabarga, Ellie Schubert, grandnephews Sebastian and Teo Schubert, Oliver and Lucas Gutierrez. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2024 at Brown and Page Mortuary. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
