John V. Rodriguez passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. John was born on June 30, 1943 in Douglas, Arizona to Clemente (Rod) and Herlinda Rodriguez. John enlisted in the Navy on June 27, 1962 and served through September 19, 1966. Following his Naval Service, he worked for the U.S.D.A. Screw Worm program for 14 years. In 1980 he started Rodriguez Refrigeration, which he owned and operated until his passing. While running his business, he also worked for Arizona Department of Corrections as a Refrigeration Technician until his retirement in 2014. He also coached Termite and Little League teams in Douglas for many years. John was preceded in death by both of his parents, his son Ralph Rodriguez and sister BiBi De La Vara. John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Grace Rodriguez; his daughters Irma (Jerry) Ruiz and Cynthia; his sons, John Jr. (Anaiza), C. Roger (Ana) and Robert (Xochitl). He is also survived by his sister, Nellie Hernandez and brother, Robert (Bob) Rodriguez. John was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM. on Friday, September 28, 2018 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Gregory Okafor officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors by the US Navy Honor Guard, the American Legion and VFW.
