John Jacks (82) passed away Friday, March 18, 2016 at home surrounded by his family after a short, aggressive battle with ALS. John was born to James and Fannie Jacks in Pruitt City, Oklahoma on November 1, 1993. John was preceded in death by his parents, son Rodney (Karla), grandson Jonathan, brother Bill (Julia), Junior, Pete, Wendell (Mae) and Jim (Pam); sisters Dorothy and Paula. John leaves behind to mourn his loss his wife of 58 years, Maxine, daughter-in-law Karla, brother Charles (Betty), sister Mary, sister-in-law Mae, sister-in-law Pam, sister-in-law Paula, granddaughter Katie (Travis) and grandson Weston. He also leaves great grandchild Colton, Ashlyn, Logan, Storey, Gavin, Lucy, Talon and Blake; very special nephew Michael, special loved one Connie, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones. John worked for Thomas Refrigeration for eight years, then went to work at the Douglas Fire Department where he retired after 20 years of service. Too energetic for retirement, he went to work for the Arizona Department of Corrections where he retired after 11 years. John loved hunting, fishing, golfing and spending as much time as possible with his family, preferably in the White Mountains. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather and is loved by so many. He never knew a stranger and was the first to always lend a helping hand. His heart was made of Gold. He will be laid to rest on Friday, March 25, 2016. Visitation will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 10:00 am followed by funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers who will serve are Charles jacks, Michael Byrd, Weston Jacks, Travis Mikkelson, Phil Beckstead and Bob Grainger.
