Joe Ramirez, passed away peacefully at home, at the age of 89,. He was born July 3, 1932, to Rosario Ramirez and Felipa Ramirez. Joe is preceded in death by his parents Rosario Ramirez, and Felipa Ramirez, step mother Beatriz Pinedo Ramirez, brothers Luciano (Julia), Lorenzo, Bellen (Douglas), Richard (Josephina), David, Ysidro, Marcelo (Maria), Steve (Fred), Pete (Maria Elena), Angel (Ann), Loui (Juanita), Tomas, Mercy, Brother in-law Raymond, Daughter in-law Betty Ramirez, grandson Kristopher Andrew Ramirez. His surviving siblings are Martin (Anita) of Phoenix, AZ, Vicente of Huachuca City, AZ, Clara (Robert) Tucson, AZ, Petra of Tucson, AZ. Joe was born in McNeal, AZ, he attended McNeal Elementary, Valley Union High School and Eastern Arizona Community College. He married Socorro Moreno Ramirez, in 1955, moved to San Pedro, California where he was as a mason, then Benson, AZ, worked as a truck driver for AJ Gilbert construction then settled in McNeal, where they raised their eight children: Rosemarie (Rodney) of Wickenburg, AZ, Lucinda (John) of Douglas, AZ, Joe Jr. of Douglas, AZ, Ben of McNeal, AZ, Patricia (Michael) of Tucson, AZ, Catherine (David), of Cave Creek, AZ, Mark of Sierra Vista, AZ, Illiana (Ray) of Sierra Vista, AZ. He leaves behind 21 grand children and 30 Great Grandchildren. Joe worked as a deliver man for Ruben's Furniture Store in Douglas, AZ, and as a truck driver for AJ Gilbert Construction. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Elfrida, AZ and he was a member of the LULAC organization, and coached Elfrida Little League. In his spare time he was a farmer and cattleman in the McNeal area. He enjoyed collecting old cars, old coins, hunting, music, dancing, traveling, watching John Wayne movies, and reading Louie L'Amour novels. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and friends. His family extends their sincere heartfelt thanks and appreciation to everyone, for their support and assistance during this time of their fathers passing. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Elfrida, AZ.
Resurrection will be celebrated on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at 4037 W. Hopkins Rd, Mc Neal, AZ., beginning with the Holy Rosary, at 10:00 am, followed by the mass. Pallbearers will be Michael Ortega, Raymond Rivera, Chris Grimm, Joe Ramirez lll, Austin Ramirez, RJ Orosco Jr., AJ Manjarres, Wyatt Ramirez,. Honorary pallbearers will be Vicente Ramirez, Cody Ramirez, Morgan Ramirez, Nick Ortega, and Preston Orosco. Burial will follow the mass at the McNeal Cemetery on East Davis Rd, McNeal, AZ.
