Obituary

Douglas, AZ - Jesus L. Yanez, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and proud veteran, passed away peacefully at his home on August 4, 2025, at the age of 91. He was surrounded by the love and care of his devoted wife Gloria, the love of his life,  to whom he was married for 69 years.

Born in Douglas, Arizona, on May 20, 1934, to Juan and Juana Yanez, Jesus grew up with a strong sense of family and community. After graduating from Douglas High School, he dedicated himself to serving his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force. In 1956, Jesus married Gloria V. Yanez, and together they embarked on a life of adventure and service. They raised their three sons, Frank, Joseph, and Richard, while stationed overseas before returning to the United States in the 1960s. Jesus retired from the Air Force with the distinguished rank of Technical Sergeant and having gained Top Secret Security Clearance.

Known for his unwavering optimism and kind heart, Jesus found his greatest joy in the success of others. He was a constant source of encouragement, always pushing those he loved to reach their full potential. His legacy is one of selflessness and inspiration, a testament to a life well-lived. He cherished the time he spent with his family and made countless lasting memories. Among his most treasured memories were the countless moments he shared with his grandson, JR.

Jesus is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria V. Yanez; his three sons, Frank (Virginia), Joseph (Edna), and Richard (Thelma); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his love, his guidance, and his enduring belief in the power of a single person to make a difference in the lives of many.
