Jesus C. "Chuy" Saavedra, 58 passed away on September 22, 2014. He was born January 17, 1956 to Abraham E. and Delia C. Saavedra. He touched many lives through his love of baseball. He took special pride in the fact that many of his athletes went on to play baseball in high school and college. Chuy had a kind heart and was willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was a loving brother, uncle, life partner and extended grandfather. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. He is predeceased in death by his Father and Mother. He is survived by his sister Linda S. Jones. His brothers Ruben C. Saavedra, Raul C. Saavedra, Abraham C. Saavedra and Rene C. Saavedra. His nieces Rachel Rodriguez, Dolores Salazar and Jacquelyn Jimenez. His nephew Nick Saavedra. He is also survived by his longtime companion Letty Zaragosa and his extended family Benny, Frances and Mark. Extended grandchildren Paulie, Alexis, Joseph, Jonathan, Justyn, Levi, Christian and Adrian. A Rosary for Chuy will be recited at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2014 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 12:00 p.m. also at St. Luke's Church.
