Mr. Jesus Luna Amaya of Douglas passed away on Thursday, December 19, 2013 in Tucson, Arizona. Jesus was born on March 9, 1925 in Peoria, Arizona to Jesus and Teresa Luna Amaya. He was a hard worker, working for almost 40 years at the Apache Powder plant, where he retired from in 1983. He loved baseball, having played in Agua Prieta for Los Astecas Segunda Fuersa, La Fieras and Los Indios baseball teams.

Jesus was preceded in death his parents, his beloved wife, Rosa Cortez Amaya, his daughter, Hilda Cortez Amaya, brothers Jesus L. "Guero" Amaya and Jesus L. "Sarge" Amaya, and sister Chuy Luna Amaya. He is survived by his sons Raymundo Cortez Amaya and Rene Cortez Amaya.

A Rosary for Jesus will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Brown Page Mortuary Chapel. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
