James Franklin Hedger, 74, died on Sunday, December 3, 2023, in Tucson, Arizona. He passed away surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Frank was born on July 11, 1949 in Marimont, Ohio. He is the son of John and Mona Hedger.

Frank spent much of his later youth racing cars. This eventually led him to a drive-in diner where he met his wife, Mary. The two were married on August 10, 1968 in Goshen, Ohio. In 1973, Frank's job would move the couple and their toddler, Kimberly, from Ohio to Douglas, Arizona, where the couple would remain until current day. Once the young family settled into their new surroundings in the desert, the final piece to their puzzle was added with the birth of their youngest daughter, Stacey.

Frank worked for Standex Electronics for 38 years, until his retirement in 2005.

His hobbies included working in his garage, cars, racing, hunting, model airplanes, and maintaining his pool for his daughters and grandchildren to enjoy all summer long. Frank enjoyed going for daily drives around Cochise County, afternoon naps, sandwiches, ice cream, and watching his favorite shows. He was a self-appointed neighborhood watchman and spent many a day sitting on his front porch rocking chair watching for hummingbirds, stray cats, and people speeding down 9th street.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary; his daughters Kimberly (Paco) and Stacey (Nacho); his grandchildren Carley (Anthony), Courtney, Caitlin, Alex, David, Alexio, and Jayson; and his great grandson Cameron.

Frank is remembered by his loved ones as a storyteller. He had the gift of gab and made a friend anywhere he went. He had a great eye for detail and had the special ability to connect with people on an individualized level. He never missed an opportunity to brag about "always being surrounded by beautiful women" (wife, daughters, granddaughters) and took great joy in joking with his grandsons and son-in-laws about who would be acquiring his beloved 1960 convertible Chevy Corvette, which still sits in pristine condition in his garage.

His family will be forgoing traditional services and will instead be spending time together in private to remember and celebrate the life of Frank Hedger.

In lieu of traditional services and gestures, if any friends or family wanted to commemorate Frank, his family recommends that this be done via donations to D.A.R.C. as this organization was very dear to him.
