Obituary

Isidoro "Cabby" Cabarga passed away at his home surrounded by his family on December 29, 2015. "Cabby" was born in Douglas on November 13, 1941 to Isidoro & Carmen Cabarga. He was preceded in death by both his parents and brother Elias. "Cabby" graduated from Douglas High School in 1962 and immediately after graduation started working for the Douglas Unified School District. He started out as a custodian and in 1964 became part of the maintenance department until he retired in 2001. He was very well liked and respected always ready and willing to help district staff. He was well known for his woodworking craftsmanship both in the district as well as around town. Hunting and fishing were things that he loved to do with his friends. He was a member of St. Luke's Parish as well as part of Father Arnold Noreiga's prayer group. Cabby is survived by brothers Tony, Tom, and Joe Cabarga, sister Carmen Cabarga, nieces Brenda Lee Cabarga and Elda Orduno, nephew Del (Ada) Cabarga, grandnieces Karen and Liana Cabarga, Ellie Schubert, grandnephews Sebastian & Teo Schubert and his beloved Tia Fita (Josephine Roqueni). A Holy Rosary, immediately followed by a Mass of the Resurrection, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2015 at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Donations can be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
