Isabel West was born on July 8th ,1932. She was born and raised in Douglas, Arizona. She was the daughter of Mary and Ross Brooks. Isabel was the oldest of eight children. She graduated from Douglas High School. She soon met and married Walter West. Together they raised six children. Isabel, loved her country and was a proud and long standing member of the Women's Auxiliary for the American Legion. Over the years she held various officer positions. Isabel was a great historian of Douglas and had a vast knowledge of Douglas' history since she spent her entire life here in Douglas. Isabel had great faith in God and was a member of St. Luke's Catholic Church where she volunteered on different committees. She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all sports. She crochet and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She loved to dance and listen to music. One of her passions was family and high-school reunions. She looked forward to seeing old friends and family members during these events. Finally, Isabel loved her family and friends with great passion. She was equally loved and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings (Dora Brooks, Clara Brooks, Mike Ross), two children (Walter and Cathy West). She is survived by three siblings (Johnnie Brooks, Alma Marcoux and Norma Menges, Her remaining children (Ralph Wisterman, George West, John West and James West), her grandchildren (Garrett Wisterman, Christie Rodriguez, Robert Rodriguez and McKenzie West, and four great-grandchildren (Aidyn Wisterman, Izibel Wisterman, Serenity Wisterman and Aria Wisterman, and many nieces and nephews). Her services will be held on Friday Sept 8th, 2023. The viewing will be at Brown-Page Mortuary from 8:00am to 10:00am. A Rosary will be held at St. Luke's Catholic Church at 10:15am with a Mass of the Resurrection following at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery followed by a reception at the American Legion.
