Ida Ruth Jespersen Huish, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on July 25, 2018 in Mesa, AZ at the home of her son at the age of 91. Ruth was born on March 8, 1927 to Edward and Ida Martineau Jespersen on a homestead near Benson, AZ. She was the seventh of nine children. When she was six, the family relocated to Tucson. It was in Tucson that she completed her schooling, graduating from Tucson High School in 1945. In 1946 she met her eternal companion Gerald Eugene (Brick) Huish on a blind date in the small LDS community of Binghampton in Tucson, AZ. It was love at first sight. After a very brief courtship, they were married for all time and eternity in the Mesa Arizona Temple. They made Douglas their home where they raised their family. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband Brick, son Kenny, brothers Neil & Teddy Jespersen and sisters Ina Hobson, Elma Jones, Shirley Goodman & JoAnne Harrison. She is survived by her children Jeannine Wright of Douglas, Michael (Patti) Huish of Mesa, AZ, Donnie (Sherry) Huish of Douglas, brothers Elmer Jespersen of California & Keith Jespersen of Utah, 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She had a deep love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and strived to live what He taught and pass those teachings on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 1st at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2800 15th Street in Douglas with Bishop Donald C. Huish Jr. officiating. There will be a viewing at 9:30 AM followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Douglas. Arrangements handled professionally by Brown-Page Mortuary.
