The youngest child of Roy and Hazel (Martin) Henderson, Howard was born March 7, 1950 in Red Cloud, Nebraska. The family later moved to Superior, Nebraska where Howard attended school. He graduated from Superior High School in 1968. Always interested in radio, Howard got his first job at the local radio station, KRFS when he was in high school. His interaction with listeners on the phone helped earn him the nickname, Mr. Wonderful as he always answered "wonderful!", when asked how he was doing. He broadcast over a thousand high school games through the years and supported many fund raising projects and community events in the area such as the annual DARC Mother's Day Cake Auction, Relay for Life, Douglas Fiestas, as well as many other events and causes. On April 14, 2012 he was united in marriage to Donna Marie Vincent. In January of this year, they adopted a 2-year-old daughter, Joselyn Marie. Howard had a passion for animals. Since 2003, Howard and Donna operated Golden Angels Kennels; breeding, selling and showing Golden Retrievers all across the country and Canada. Survivors include his wife, Donna and daughter, Joselyn; step sons Armando, Jacob, as well as Steven Elzy, his wife Nicole and their two children.
