Our beloved mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother, Hortencia Urias Cruz, has gone home to our Lord on Saturday, November 28, 2015. Hortencia, also known as "Tencha", passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her beloved husband of 60 years, Ramon S. Cruz; her children Sylvia (Carlos) Valdez, Ramon (Brenda) Cruz, Letty (Javier) Grijalva, Everardo (Elizabeth) Cruz; grandchildren Randy (Adriana) Grijalva, Claudia (Brandon) Sanchez, Melissa (Chris) Cruz, Alexis (Miguel) Cruz, Anthony Cruz, Andres Cruz, Carlos Ramon Valdez; great grandchildren Alize, Henessey, and Jordan Grijalva, Chris, Jazielle and Ryder Cruz-Diaz, and Elena Lee Sanchez; step-grandchildren Zulma and Paul. She is also survived by her sister Maria Luisa Urias Ballesteros. Hortencia was born on October 18, 1927 in Cumpas, Sonora, Mexico to Felipe and Manuela Urias Abril. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, seven sisters and five in-laws. Hortencia will be remembered for her honesty, her humbleness and as being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A Rosary for Tencha will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at Brown Page Mortuary. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Church with her nephew Father Jose Garibaldi Ballesteros officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Our wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother will be greatly missed and her legacy of keeping the family united will remain in our hearts and will live on with us all.
