Herlinda (Bonnie) Velasco, 79, lifelong resident of Pirtleville Arizona, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2021 surrounded by her family and friends.

Bonnie, born on November 23 ^rd , 1941 to Herlinda & Miguel Molina in Douglas AZ, she immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. She studied and went on to graduate from Douglas High School where she met and fell in love with Rafael Velasco Sr. Bonnie and Rafael were inseparable from that point on. Bonnie and Rafael were married for over 60 years and had three children, Audrey, Ralphy and Ricky.

Bonnie was a dedicated mom to all of her children, raising all three of them to go on to accomplish great things with their lives. Family always came first to her and that was above all else, a value she instilled in all those around her. Her favorite times were with her grandchildren playing, laughing, singing and telling old stories. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her delicious Italian meals. She loved to travel and visited several states and also traveled abroad, she visited Europe several times, and Italy was her favorite place.

Bonnie was dedicated to the Catholic community where she taught the youth at Catholic Classes (CCD) also had a church choir group and worked at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Pirtleville AZ. Bonnie later moved on with her career and worked in administration at Cochise College Aviation Department. Bonnie completed her career with the US Federal Immigration and Customs Service.

Bonnie was predeceased by parents Miguel and Herlinda and sister, Marylou. She leaves behind three children, Audrey, Ralphy and Rick; husband, Rafael; her grandkids, Jessica, Travis, Jackie, Nicolas and Christopher; her great grandchildren, Damien, Gia, Azrael and Alaya; brother, Mike (Zuni); sisters, Martha and Elsa; daughters in law, Yvonne, Miriam and Maritza; sons in law, Ken, Ricky and Danny. She also left behind several nieces, nephews and friends.

A Rosary for Bonnie will be recited at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at St. Luke's Catholic Church followed by a Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m.  Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Rafael, Ralphy, Rick, Damien, Nicolas, Christopher, Azrael.
