Hector A. Salazar, age 90, died peacefully in his sleep of complications from Alzheimers, May 27, 2016 in his home in Douglas, Arizona. Hector was born in Douglas on February 12, 1926 and graduated Douglas High School. He was a Veteran of the US Army and served in World War II. He was a cattle rancher for many years until his retirement. Hector was preceded by his parents, Juana Del Rio Salazar, Ramon Salazar and his brother Raymundo Salazar.
Hector is survived by his wife Jessie of 65 years, his daughter Gloria, his son Hector, his daughter-in law Gracie, 5 grandchildren: Omar, Carla, Ariana, Anika and Analeese and 2 great-grandchildren. A Rosary for Hector will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated following the Rosary at 11:00 a.m. also at Immaculate Conception Church. His ashes will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Douglas Arizona following the Mass with Military Honors by the American Legion and VFW.
