Guillermo passed away August 2nd just six days shy from his 60th birthday, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Nacozari, Sonora on August 8, 1956 to William and Josefina Owen, he became a Douglas resident at the age of 7. He graduated from Douglas High school and attended Cochise College. He was employed by A.J. Bayless and Phelps Dodge-Western Exploration, while residing in Douglas. He was always proud of his hometown and its people and always longed for that one last visit. Most recently, he had been employed by Freeport-McMoRan-Sierrita. Bill was known to his family and friends as loyal, generous and kind. He viewed life with a healthy sense of humor finding the humor in most everything. He possessed an inquisitive mind, finding interest in things he saw, read and heard - looking for the finest details. He will greatly be missed. He is proceeded in death by his mother Josefina E. Owen. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Maria J "Susy" Cano, daughters Susan (Jose) Sodari, Nancy (Joseph) Altamirano, Victoria Owen and his cowboy partner, grandson Santiago Sodari; His Father William Q Owen, siblings Loudres Owen, Ana (Jesus) Acuna, Josie (Sam) Tardibuono, John (Lupita) Owen, Mary (Raul) Perez and 11 nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 5th also at Immaculate Conception Church.
