Guadalupe "Lupe" Acosta, age 54, passed away unexpectedly on May 3, 2017. He was a lifelong resident of Douglas, AZ. Lupe worked for the Douglas Unified School District for thirty years where he held various positions. In 2011, he retired as a Supervisor Maintenance Coordinator.
In addition, Lupe committed his time to coaching the Termite and Little League Baseball Leagues for many years. Most recently he volunteered his time to maintaining the grounds of St. Luke's Parish with the help of his brother Alfonso. Lupe was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his wife of almost 39 years, Maria G. Acosta, his sons Joseph (Maria), David (Danya), and Andrew "AJ", his four grandchildren Angell, Arielle, Kevin and Catalina, his mother Hermelinda Acosta, three brothers Alfonso, Jesus and Jorge and three sisters Miroslava, Maribel and Yolanda. He is preceded in death by his father, Jose Cruz Acosta.
Services will be held on Tuesday May 9th, 2017 at St. Luke's Parish beginning with the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at a later date.
